The Mudrats B3 team started their season with a win with one Mudrat making it a day to remember. “Marky Mark” Forbes made an unbeaten century of 108 to help guide the Rats to a total of 202. Marky hit consecutive sixes to bring up his ton to ensure there was no repeat of an unlucky 99 last year. New recruit Scott “Peptides” Pepper was next best with 44.
The bowlers did their job with the ball to dismiss the Glendale/Edgeworth Old Boys for 179. President Elsley took 3 wickets along with Armidale to be the main destroyers on a super day at Myamblah Oval.
The skipper was very happy with the result who celebrated his 100th game win a win. “It was good to get the win today as Marky played superb. It’s an exciting year ahead with the new recruits, Cashy, Fish and Peptides all looking good in the middle to strengthen the Mudrat roster.”
The D1 side was not so lucky who suffered a defeat in their opening match after getting off to a good start with the bar failed to follow through. A few extra net sessions maybe required this week.
